About J.D. Rempel
J.D. Rempel is a multi-award winning children’s author. Her books include Marigold and the Snoring King, a fairy tale picture book, and her contemporary middle-grade series, The NorCal Girls. As a confessed Anglophile, she’s usually found watching British TV especially mysteries. In her spare time, she reads, plays games, solves puzzles, and listens to music with her husband. She collects stickers and is fascinated by reptiles especially turtles and dinosaurs. J.D. resides in Northern California to be close to her family and near the beautiful redwoods that inspire her stories.
J.D. is not the only writer in the family. She is pictured here with her dad, Poppy, while he is working on his poetry.
Her life verses:
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (NIV)
Revelation 3:8 “I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” (NIV)
May you understand the Truth behind the fiction.

Melanie at Camp Redwoods is based on a real place, Alliance Redwoods Conference Grounds. If you’ve read book two, you might recognize this picture. It is Katie’s favorite spot, but it is also J.D.’s favorite too whenever she visits the camp.
